City of Southlake

City Council Information

Listing of and Contact Information for City Council Members

On April 4, 1987 Southlake voters approved home rule charter which established a Council/Manager form of government.  The Council/Manager form of government combines the strong political leadership of elected officials and the strong professional experience of a City Manager.  The Mayor and City Council establish policy and law while the City Manager has responsibility for submitting the annual budget, directing day-to-day operations, advises City Council on matters affecting the City and appoints and removes city personnel.

The Southlake City Council consists of seven members, including the Mayor, all elected at-large by Southlake residents. Elections are held the second Saturday of May each year, with no more than three places scheduled for any single year (unless there are resignations).

The City Council meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at Southlake Town Hall, 1400 Main Street. Meetings start with a 5:00 p.m. work session, followed by the regular agenda. After the call to order, the Council usually goes into Executive Session.  Members of the public are welcome to attend all meetings and comment on any item being considered by the Council.
