Proclamation - Carolyn Morris Day

Carolyn Morris has been a vital and active member of the Southlake community for 14 years and has committed much of her time here to the betterment of the community; and,          
    
Whereas, Carolyn has demonstrated the true spirit of volunteerism, leadership, and selflessness through the time and energy she has given through her membership and work on many boards and organizations; and,

Whereas, she became a member of the City Council in 2002 and served as Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem and Mayor Pro Tem.  She has also served on the Southlake Parks Development Corporation and Southlake Arts Council and has been involved with the DPS Citizens Alumni Academy, the Southlake 2025 Development Committee, and the Bob Jones Nature Center Board; and,

Whereas, Carolyn's work is renowned far beyond the city limits with her work as the Coordinator for the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation North Texas Chapter and as a member of the Executive Board for the Apex Arts League; and,

Whereas, during the years she has served the community, she has displayed exemplary dedication to the best interests of the community by working tirelessly for the betterment of its economic, cultural, and aesthetic development and has proven to be a of great assistance to the community; now,

Therefore, be it resolved, that I, Mayor Andy Wambsganss, on behalf of the City Council of the City of Southlake, do hereby proclaim May 6, 2008, as Carolyn Morris Day.
