Proclamation - Carroll Senior High Lady Dragons Soccer Team

Whereas, the Carroll Lady Dragon Soccer Team recently won the State 5A Soccer Tournament to earn the 2008 championship title; and,
Whereas, the Lady Dragons completed a perfect playoff run by defeating Plano East in the final game on April 12, 2008 at Round Rock ISD Stadium by a score of 2 - 1; and,
Whereas, the Lady Dragons allowed only 11 goals this season and set a new Class 5A record with 24 shutouts; and,
Whereas, the Lady Dragons won its first, state soccer championship in three trips to the state tournament and finished the season with an outstanding record of 24-4-4; and,
Whereas, a special commendation is due all of the team members, Coach Matt Colvin, and his staff for an exciting, hard-fought, and successful season; now,
Therefore, I, Andy Wambsganss, Mayor of the City of Southlake, on behalf of the City Council, in recognition of the team's outstanding performance and dedication, do hereby proclaim April 12, 2008, as Carroll Lady Dragon Soccer Team Day.
