Proclamation - Eagle Scout Derek Christensen Day

 

Boy Scouting's highest honor is achieving the Eagle Scout Award and only 1% of all scouts ever achieve this rank; and,

 

Whereas, On June 6, 2008, Boy Scout Derek Christensen from Troop 402, will be recognized by the Boy Scouts of America for successfully completing all requirements for Scouting's highest rank; and,

 

Whereas, Derek was nominated for Order of the Arrow and was recommended for the Academic Team.  He has served as Senior Patrol Leader and UIL Team Member.  For his Eagle Scout Project, Derek built four picnic tables for Mission Arlington in Arlington, Texas, allowing for more eating space at the facility; and,

 

Whereas, The Eagle Scout Award is the highest form of recognition in the Boy Scouts of America and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment.  Having completed the requirements for, and having been examined by an Eagle Scout Board Review, Derek Christensen was found worthy of the rank of Eagle Scout; and,

 

Therefore, I, Mayor Andy Wambsganss, on behalf of the City Council, in recognition of Derek Christensen's outstanding achievements and superior spirit of service to his community, do hereby proclaim June 6, 2008 as
