Proclamation - Eagle Scout Scott Edward Smith Day

 

Boy Scouting's highest honor is achieving the Eagle Scout Award and only 1% of all scouts ever achieve this rank; and,

 

Whereas, On August 2, 2008, Boy Scout Scott Edward Smith, from Troop 928, will be recognized by the Boy Scouts of America for successfully completing all requirements for Scouting's highest rank; and,

 

Whereas, Scott has earned 35 merit badges and has served as Historian, Troop Guide, Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader.  For his Eagle Scout Project, Scott constructed a 10 x 12 storage building for Johnson Elementary School in Southlake, Texas. He spent a grand total of 245 hours working on the project; and,

 

Whereas, The Eagle Scout Award is the highest form of recognition in the Boy Scouts of America and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment.  Having completed the requirements for, and having been examined by an Eagle Scout Board Review, Scott Edward Smith was found worthy of the rank of Eagle Scout; and,

 

Therefore, I, Mayor Andy Wambsganss, on behalf of the City Council, in recognition of Scott Edward Smith's outstanding achievements and superior spirit of service to his community, do hereby proclaim August 2, 2008, as
