Regional Medical Cluster

Southlake has become the center of several medical facilities in the immediate region. Harris Methodist Hospital opened for business in Southlake in the fall of 2004. Baylor Regional Medical Center of Grapevine and Trophy Club Medical Center are both located adjacent to Southlake.

Harris Methodist Hospital, SouthlakeHarris Methodist Hospital Southlake is a short-stay specialty hospital. This project is a joint venture between Harris Methodist HEB Hospital and a number of local physicians. Approximately 40 physicians from multiple specialties have invested in ownership of the project and will be an integral part in the development and operations of the facility.   This is the first hospital built in Northeast Tarrant County in nearly two decades. The facility is anticipated to have physicians and specialists from various medical fields, such as orthopedics, plastic surgery, pain management, general surgery, otolaryngology and radiology. The facility is equipped with five surgical suites, 5-10 overnight beds and a diagnostic/outpatient imaging department. The imaging center  includes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tornography (CT) scanning. The hospital will not provide emergency services or labor and delivery services.

Baylor Regional Medical Center at GrapevineStatistics from Fiscal Year 2003 include 93,324 admissions, 15,000 employees and 3,300 physicians.  Highlights include a successful surgery from the first initiated brain surgery program in October, 2003.  A successful double bypass procedure was performed in October, 2003 which launched Baylor Grapevine's open heart surgery program after a two year training program.  Expansion of the Digestive Diseases also received attention when new technology offers the ability for a physician to see the entire span of a small intestine.  Women's services also expanded with the opening of Ed and Minnie Lee Lancaster Patient Tower, a $51 million expansion.  Four new labor-delivery rooms were added to the existing 10 rooms available.

Trophy Club Medical CenterTrophy Club Medical Center houses an estimated 50 physician partners and staffs approximately 100 employees in the 20-bed facility.  The medical services include general orthopedic, urology, gynecology and gastrointestinal needs.  The hospital includes 16 recovery rooms, six operating rooms, four treatment rooms, a retail pharmacy, laboratory, and diagnostic imaging center.  Also, specialists with the Arlington Cancer Center are basing new operations in Trophy Club.

Southlake is home to nearly 90 health-care related businesses, ranging from medical and dental to emergency air transportation services and imaging.
