CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR
(Job Description)
Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to ensure public works construction projects meet standards and specifications in accordance with the approved plans and safety standards. This is accomplished by inspecting work quality and materials used in a variety of public works projects including the construction, repair, maintenance or alteration on streets, curbs, sidewalks, drainage facilities, underground utilities and related structures; ensuring conformance with City standard specifications and safety standards; and maintaining records and reports on inspected projects. Other duties include performing a variety of technical tasks relative to the Public Works department and assisting other departments when necessary.
Education
: Advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. College, vocational, business, technical, or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training up to and including a two year associate's degree.Certificates & Other Requirements: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Texas Drivers License.
Experience: Over two (2) years, up to five (5) years
Salary: $18.925 per hour plus benefits
