City of Southlake Minimum Requirements
These requirements MUST be met to apply with the City of Southlake.
- Minimum age of applicant is 19 years old.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED and a valid Texas drivers' license.
- Must be a Certified Fire Fighter and EMT OR Certified EMT Paramedic OR Certified Firefighter & Paramedic student within six months of graduation.
- An extensive background check will be conducted.

City of Southlake Pay & Benefits
Firefighter Recruit Pay: $40,622.40 per year + benefits.
Firefighter / Paramedic Pay: $50,778.00 per year + benefits.

How to Apply
Applications are only accepted for open positions. All applicants must successfully complete the TCC Physical Agility Test prior to applying. Please review the process below for registration and test information.
Physical Ability Test
The Physical Ability Test is conducted by Tarrant County College and is valid for six months from the date of issue.

Written Test
The written test is conducted by the City of Southlake. Successful completion of the Physical Ability Test is required to participate in the written test.
The next City of Southlake written test will be scheduled in the future and posted on this website.
Post Test
All applicants will be notified of written test results via email. Applicants who successfully complete both the Physical Ability and Written Test will be invited to apply with the City of Southlake by completing a City application and a Personal History Statement (PHS). Proof of all certifications will be required at that time.
Applicants who do not pass one of the required tests are welcome to re-test at the next available test date.
