 Proctored Exams

The Southlake Public Library offers limited proctoring services to students. This service is provided at no charge to Southlake residents. Nonresidents may also utilize this service for a fee of $25 per exam. Contact the Reference Desk for more information.

Online Research Databases

•  Research Databases are accessible from any computer connected to the Internet. They contain homework help, full length magazine and newspaper articles, literary criticism, business data, medical information and other useful resources. Call the Adult Services desk at 817-748-8247 to obtain login information, more information, or assistance accessing these databases.
• NetLibrary provides tens of thousands of eBooks that can be read online.To get started, read the instructions and general information and then sign up today!
• Reference USA is one of the top sources of information on businesses and people for researchers, students, job seekers and government agencies. Login information is available from the Southlake Public Library Adult Services desk at 817-748-8247.
• Worldbook Online is available to Southlake Public LIbrary customers. For login information, please call the Adult Services desk at 817-748-8247.
• The Library of Texas website allows users to search multiple Texas library catalogs and other knowledge collections from a single interface. The login username and password are the same as those used with the TexShare databases, which can be obtained from the Reference Desk at 817-748-8247.
• The TexShare Card Program gives customers of participating libraries the opportunity to check out books from other participating Texas libraries. The Southlake Public Library is proud to offer this service to its customers. For more information about the program call the Southlake Public Library at 817-748-8243.

  Online Services

• Free Wireless Internet is available at the Southlake Public Library, in Town Square, at Bob Jones Park, Bicentennial Park, and the Southlake Sports Complex.
• Interlibrary Loans can be requested through our online form.
• Library Elf is an independent Internet-based tool for keeping track of what you have due, overdue and ready for pickup at all the libraries you frequent. The Southlake Public Library does not run Library Elf, but our catalog is fully compatible with the service. Library Elf is provided for free to Southlake Public Library cardholders. Locate the Southlake Public Library on the List of Libraries provided on the Library Elf website to sign up.

• The library newsletter can be downloaded in Acrobat PDF format.
• The Southlake Community Wiki is designed to present information on community resources that may be of interest to Southlake residents. It is an ongoing work in progress, and will be updated as new community resources become available.
• Check the Southlake Public Library Blog for information about new book releases, new purchases, upcoming events, and more.
• The Southlake Public Library Facebook  page is up and running. Check us out and become a fan. We want to network with you.
