Parks, Recreation, Open Space
The purpose of the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan is two fold: one, to implement the Southlake 2025 Plan recommendations for parks and open space by better integrating parks planning with the land use and mobility elements and two, to respond to the needs expressed by Southlake citizens in their desires for leisure services. Note that the Environmental Resource Protection Plan is a chapter of the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan
The 2005 Update of the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan was undertaken by the Community Services Department and the Planning and Development Services Department (formerly the Planning Department) together with the Parks Board and the Planning & Zoning Commission. The plan was approved by City Council on September 20, 2005.
The City Council approved 2005 Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan is now available in Adobe Reader format. You may download the entire plan as one file or you may download the chapters, maps, and appendices individually. We recommend downloading the files before opening them, especially if you do not have a broad-band internet connection.
