Sidewalk Plan
One of the key objectives of the Southlake 2025 Plan is to improve pedestrian access to major destinations. As a result, the city developed it's first Sidewalk Plan in 2007 to address gaps in the pedestrian network and to complement the existing Trail Master Plan (known as the Southlake Pathways Plan).

While the Pathways Plan addresses pedestrian mobility on a broad scale, the Sidewalk Plan addresses "door to trail" connectivity and gaps in the pedestrian network. As such, the Sidewalk Plan includes a priority list for sidewalk gap projects that are critical in pedestrian connectivity to neighborhoods, schools, parks, shopping, employment, and trails. This priority list will be implemented through the city's Capital Improvement Program. In addition, the Sidewalk Plan includes the city's first Safe Routes to Schools Plan (SRTS), which addresses issues to improve active transportation between residences and schools.
