How can I find zoning, land use, and other information on my client's property?
You can find a lot of information on a property in one of three ways:
1. Visit our interactive mapping website. Be sure to check the "parcels" box as well as any other layer of interest to you. Then click "update maps" to view the requested information. You can zoom in to any specific area of the city using your cursor or type an address in the address search field.
2. Call us at the Planning Department at (817) 748-8069 during regular office hours to ask our staff about the information you require.
3. Visit our offices on the 2nd floor of Town Hall during regular working hours to review the official city maps and talk to planning staff about your questions.
What effect does the Land Use Plan have on my client's property?
The city's Land Use Plan is one of the most critical elements of a community's comprehensive plan. It articulates the community's vision for the future development of the city. The Land Use Plan does not carry any regulatory authority, but acts as a guideline for decision making on different development proposals.
How can I find the ownership of a piece of property?
You can find ownership information of a property online the following ways:
1. Visit our interactive mapping website. Use the "Query a Parcel" button by clicking on the property in question to access the Tarrant Appraisal District information on the property.
2. Go to the Tarrant Appraisal District's website or the Denton County Appraisal District's website and perform a property search based on the property's physical address.

Where can I find more information on road projects in the city?
The city has an adopted Mobility and Master Thoroughfare Plan that outlines the future plans for all major roadways in the city. The city also adopts a Capital Improvements Program (CIP) every year in which it allocates funding for various public infrastructure projects including road maintenance, construction of trails and sidewalks, and other such improvements. You can also contact the Public Works department for information about a specific road project that is currently underway.
Is there any development activity in the area of my client's property?
Our department publishes a development activity report twice a month for the purpose of informing all interested persons about development proposals in the approval process. If you need more information about a specific project, you can contact our department in person on the third floor of Town Hall or on the phone at 817-748-8069.
