STEP is a competitive funding program for certain transportation related activities, such as sidewalks, bicycle lanes, landscaping, historic preservation, and environmental mitigation. (For a complete list of eligible activities, please visit the state's Transportation Enhancement website.) Frequently Asked QuestionsThere is a sidewalk gap that isn't shown on the maps. Why isn't it included in this project? The gap may be adjacent to a planned deceleration lane. The deceleration lane sidewalks are not included in the funding application because they are already programmed for construction. There is a sidewalk shown in front of my property. Will I have to give up some of my property? No, all of the sidewalks will be in TxDOT right of way. If the city receives funding, when will the sidewalks be constructed? The schedule is uncertain at this time. Related Links |
