Police Chief Wade Goolsby
Wade Goolsby began serving as the Chief of Police in August 2005. He is a veteran police officer and administrator with more than 25 years of public service.
Chief Goolsby oversees operations of the four major police services divisions: Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Professional Standards and Community Initiatives. The department has 56 sworn officers and five civilian employees. The agency obtained national accreditation status in March 2000 and maintains that honor to date.
Chief Goolsby has implemented behind-the-scenes improvements to the department since becoming police chief as well as augmented the current programs that are available to Southlake citizens. Goolsby also implemented a comprehensive Women's Self Defense Class that addresses situational awareness and provides simple, intuitive self-defense tactics for the female residents of Southlake.
"The Southlake Department of Public Safety pledges to provide the highest possible level of customer service to its citizens. We strive to be professional in all of our endeavors and are committed to the citizens of Southlake," said Chief Goolsby. "We believe that the partnership between the police and the community is invaluable and we constantly strive to strengthen that partnership."
