City of Southlake

By City Ordinance, Southlake has established a set of requirements for allowable meter types and sizes in new developments. The City of Southlake inventories, and installs all 1" Simple, 2" Compound, and 2" Turbo meters.

4" or larger meters need to be supplied by the property owner, and drop shipped to the City's Public Works Operations Center located at 1950 E. Continental Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092. (Please reference the construction site address and/or project name on the delivery slip). The vault for the 4" or larger meter must be shipped locked to the construction site. When the contractor is ready to have the meter installed, the contractor must contact the Public Works Operations Division at (817) 748-8082 to schedule the installation. Failure to comply with this process may result in a delay of the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy.

For all new water meters, please visit the Utility Billing Department in Southlake Town Hall Suite 200 to apply for water service and complete the required forms or call (817) 748-8051 for more information.

The City of Southlake requires that all new water meters installed be "Badger" brand meters with "Orion" brand transmitters for compatibility with the City's electronic water meter read system.

Please note that failure to comply with these requirements will result in service not being activated.
