Dress and Behavior Code

Metroport Teen Court Dress and Behavior Code:

Teen Court is a formal and very serious place, commanding respect from all who participate in its proceedings.  All participants (defendants, parents/guardians, guests and volunteers) are required to adhere to the following dress and behavior code.

Teen Court prohibits the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products, and obscene or profane language in or near the courtroom/jury room.  Eating, drinking, or chewing gum in Town Hall is prohibited.  Any form of horseplay or disruptive behavior in Town Hall will result in removal.  Cellular phones, pagers, and other electronic devices are not allowed at Teen Court.  Telephones will be available for emergency use or to call parents.

Teen Court Defendants and Jurors must sign in prior to 6:00 pm.  All participants must remain in the courtroom until a Teen Court Representative dismisses them for the evening.  You will not be allowed to participate in Teen Court if you arrive after 6:00 pm or leave after signing in for the evening.

Teen Court reserves the right to refuse to hear cases from those who fail to abide by the outlined dress and behavior code.  Violations in the dress and behavior code can result in a defendant's case being referred back to Municipal Court.
