Who is Eligible for Teen Court?
Defendant Eligibility - Teens who receive a citation for a class C misdemeanor
- Ages 12-19
- Is currently enrolled in secondary school of education (middle school or high school).
- Has not successfully completed a Teen Court program anywhere in the state of Texas in the last 2 years.
- Must enter a plea of guilty or nolo contendere (no contest).
Teen Volunteer Eligibility To volunteer with Teen Court, you may come in on any evening we hold Teen Court and turn in a Volunteer Application Form. Please see the schedule for upcoming dates. You will sign in at the volunteer check-in between 5:30pm-6pm, and we will direct you to the appropriate location. - Youth in middle school or high school may volunteer as a jury member, court clerk, bailiff or teen attorney. Adult Volunteer Eligibility Adults interested in volunteering for Teen Court must first follow the instructions and turn in formsto theVolunteer Southlake program. Teen Court will be notified once your application has been approved and a representative will contact you regarding scheduling. - Adults may volunteer as a jury trial judge, bench trial judge, jury monitor, or court clerk.
