City of Southlake

Southlake Stampede

The Southlake Stampede has been unleashed! The first of the wildly colored Longhorns started "grazing" in Southlake Town Square in time for the City's 50th Anniversary celebration on September 16, 2006. These life size fiberglass statues of Longhorn Cattle and Calves were the "3-D" canvas" that local artists and school children transformed into works of art.

Whether you are a visitor or a residents you've probably seen Stampede Longhorns & Calves "grazing" around town.  (Click on either the Longhorn or the Calves link for a list of names, artists, sponsors and to see pictures of each one.)

Southlake Stampede

The Southlake Stampede is powered by a dedicated group of volunteers!  The committee and City staff meet every Friday at 8:30 AM at the Community Center.

The committee would like to thank the City of Southlake, the Southlake City Council, the Southlake 50th Anniversary Committee, the Parks & Recreation Board and the Public Art Advisory Council for supporting the Southlake Stampede.
