Hydraulic Fracturing Activities in the City of Colleyville
The City of Southlake has been notified that hydraulic fracturing activities on the Titan Operating LLC gas drill site located at 7504 Pleasant Run Road in the City of Colleyville will begin on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, with the completion of operations scheduled for February 3, 2012. Per the requirements of the Chapter 3.1 of the Colleyville Land Development Code, fracking operations may only occur during daytime hours (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and must meet all City of Colleyville ordinance requirements. Moratorium Expired
On November 14, 2011 the moratorium on the acceptance and processing of applications for gas well drilling permits and their associated requests in the City of Southlake expired.
The first moratorium vote took place on January 18, 2011 which halted the acceptance or processing of applications for gas well drilling permits and their associated requests in the City of Southlake. For more information about the moratorium, please click here.
Application Withdrawn
On May 16, 2011 the City of Southlake received a letter from XTO Energy. It can be read by clicking here. Based upon the letter and XTO's previous public comments, the City considers the applications withdrawn.
Temporary Restraining Order Filed
A temporary restraining order (TRO) has been issued preventing the City from releasing any permits related to GAS10-004. The City and the City Attorney’s office received the order on Thursday, April 14, 2011, and since that time no permits have been released by the City.

City Enforcement and Regulations
Since 2008 City staff and the City Council have been preparing in the event that gas drilling would be allowed in the City of Southlake. Please click on the City Enforcement Responsibilities page for more information on the comprehensive effort that is required under the City's ordinance in order for drill operators to harvest the gas found in Southlake's portion of the Barnett Shale.
