Garage Sale Guidelines
General Guidelines
- No city permit is required.
- Garage sales are limited to two per calendar year.
- All sale items must be confined to the garage, patio, or driveway of the premises and no new merchandise is allowed to be sold.
Sign Guidelines
- A maximum of four signs are allowed per sale. This includes one on-site sign and three off-site signs. Signs must display the address of the sale.
- Signs must be ground signs with metal or wooden satkes. Signs may be a maximum of 3 feet tall and a maximum of 4 square feet in area.
- Banner signs and cardboard box signs are not allowed.
- No signs are permitted on S.H. 114.
- No signs are allowed in the City right-of-way. The general rule is that signs must be 10 feet from the back of the curb. Please refer to the right-of-way exhibit for more details.
- No signs may be placed on trees, poles, street signs, or any other utility units.
- Signs may only be displayed between noon on Thursday and noon on Monday or on any legal holiday. However, signs must be removed immediately after the sale.
