Enforcement of Watering Restrictions
The City of Southlake is committed to protecting a valuable resource, your drinking water, and preventing water waste. During any of the
Stages of Drought, mandatory watering restrictions and failure to prevent water waste will be enforced through the Drought Contingency/Emergency Water Management Plan
(City Code - Chapter 19). Residents may
report a violation via the Public Work's "Come Fix This" web form. Please check
current conditions for the latest watering restrictions that are in place.
Enforcement Procedure
After a code compliance officer has identified an offense, the officer will determine the status of the property's compliance record.
- First offense: The officer will leave a sign on the property and the City will follow with a letter addressing the party on record responsible for the water bill. - Second offense: The officer will leave a sign on the property. The City will NOT send a follow up letter on the second offense. You are highly encouraged to identify the cause of the offense and correct it immediately. You may appeal to have this warning waived by completing the following watering violation appeal form. Please contact Christi Upton, Environmental Coordinator, at (817) 748-8638 with any questions.
- Third offense: The officer will issue a citation to the party on record responsible for the water bill. The Municipal Court will mail the citation to the corresponding party's address.
