Boards & Commissions
Actively Involved
Southlake City government offers a number of ways for its citizens to become actively involved in government business. In addition to the opportunity citizens have to express their thoughts at
City Council meetings and public hearings, Southlake residents may also apply to serve on one of many boards, commissions and committees.
Board Membership
The various boards, commissions and committees act in an advisory capacity to the City Council and in some instances they are the final body for action. Southlake residents are appointed to these boards, commissions and committees by the City Council and serve two-year terms, unless appointed to fulfill a vacancy. Members of these citizen boards, commissions and committees serve without monetary compensation. Unless otherwise noted, the only requirement for service is that the applicant must live in Southlake. Each appointed member shall complete training required by state law and as designated by the City of Southlake.
