Catch the Reading Express
Summer Reading Club has arrived at the Southlake Public Library! Sign up for Summer Reading Club in the Library or sign up online to qualify for prizes all summer long! Be sure to pick up your reading log in the Library or print one from home.
This year's Summer Reading Club runs from Saturday, May 22nd through Saturday, August 14th. Participants receive prizes every 5 hours they read, up to 30. In addition, for every 5 hours they read (no upper limit) they receive a slip for the big prize drawings at the end of the summer. See our Library Sponsors pages for prize donations and support those who support this community!
Participants in the children's Summer Reading Club also receive:
- A Texas Reading Club Certificate from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (10 hours read)
- A free book of their choice from the Summer Reading Club cart (15 hours read)
- A free admission ticket to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History (20 hours read)
- A free admission ticket to the Barnum & Bailey Circus Summer 2010 performance (25 hours read)
There are family events held in the library each week, including performances, crafts, live book readings, and more. See the schedule below for specific dates and times. Print the brochure and keep it handy all summer long.
The Southlake Public Library recognizes our dear supporters in the Friends of Southlake Library (FOSL) for their generous donation to the Summer Reading Club, which paid for our brochures, our prizes, and additional entertainer performances, allowing even more of our community to enjoy the programs.
FOSL raises money for the Library by maintaining an on-going Book Sale in the Library and they have a great need of your used books, movies, cds, and audiobooks to continue raising money for special programs, such as Summer Reading Club. Thank you to our FOSL members who work tirelessly on our behalf.
