The Fire Department is currently operating under the 2021 International Fire Code with local amendments. Sprinkler systems, fire alarms and other fire protection systems must be reviewed by our designated third party review firms. (List Below) The engineering firms do charge the company submitting the plans and the charge is based on several variables. Please contact the engineering firm for questions about submittals and fees. The Southlake Fire Department does not currently charge permit fees for installation of sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, or other fire protection systems.
No plan review is required for sprinkler system alterations involving 20 or less heads. Please contact the Fire Marshal's Office for a visual of the system alterations before covering the ceiling. Plans for pre-engineered suppression systems may be submitted directly to the Fire Marshal's Office for review. Plans need to be dropped off at the Fire Marshal's Office located at 600 State Street and the entry is marked Fire Services and is the first door off of North Carroll Avenue and Division Street.
Inspections can be scheduled by calling 817-748-8233. If no one is available to take your call, please leave a message with property location and type of inspection requested and a staff member will call you back to schedule.
