2015 Fire Code Amendments
Sprinkler systems, fire alarms and other fire protection systems must be reviewed by our designated third party review firm. This engineering firm does charge the company submitting the plans and the charge is based on several variables.
Please allow 10 working days for complete plan review.
No plan review is required for sprinkler system alterations involving 20 or less heads. Call the Fire Marshal's Office at 817-748-8233 for a visual of the system alterations before covering the ceiling.
Plans for pre-engineered suppression systems may be submitted directly to the Fire Marshal's Office for review. Plans may be dropped off at 600 State Street, Southlake, TX 76092.
The Fire Department does not charge any permit fees. A Tent Permit must be applied for if the tent is over 400 square feet. Apply for the permit at the Building Inspection Department, 1400 Main Street, Suite 250, Southlake, TX 76052, and they will issue a permit for this use.
