Plan Review & Permits

The Fire Department is currently operating under the 2018 International Fire Code with local amendments.

Sprinkler systems, fire alarms and other fire protection systems must be reviewed by our designated third party review firms. This engineering firm does charge the company submitting the plans and the charge is based on several variables.

No plan review is required for sprinkler system alterations involving 20 or less heads. Call the Fire Marshal's Office at 817-748-8233 for a visual of the system alterations before covering the ceiling.

Plans for pre-engineered suppression systems may be submitted directly to the Fire Marshal's Office for review. Plans may be dropped off at 600 State Street, Southlake, Texas 76092.

Permit Fees

The Southlake Fire Department does not currently charge permit fees for installation of fire alarm systems or fire sprinkler systems.
