Criminal Investigations Division (CID)

The Criminal Investigations Division or (CID) is responsible for investigating crimes to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to file a case with the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office.  The CID Division is led by the CID Commander Captain Randy Thomas. Captain  Thomas has been with the Police Department since April, 2003.
 
CID also provides assistance and guidance to victims of crime. The division also secures search and arrest warrants, and maintains property and evidence. The personnel that make up CID include:


  • 1 CID Sergeant
  • 1 CID Corporal 
  • 3 CID Detectives 
  • 1 Narcotics Investigator 
  • 1 Property and Evidence Technician
  • 1 Crime Analyst/Victims Assistance Liaison

Additionally, this division includes the School Resource Officer (SRO) program as well as the warrant/bailiff unit.  The personnel of each of these respective areas include:

School Resource Unit 

  • 1 SRO Sergeant 
  • 1 SRO Corporal 
  • 13 School Resource Officers

Warrant Unit 

  • 1 Warrant Officer 
  • 3 Part-Time Municipal Court Officers (Bailiffs)
