Taste, Odor, or Appearance Concerns

Taste, odors, or appearance of your drinking water can change. There are a number of reasons why, including when our water supplier (City of Fort Worth) makes a change in the water supply.
bad smell
These changes may reflect a number of causes for taste, odor, or appearance such as algae growth, changes in temperature, excessive rainfall, flooding, drought, or dry weather conditions.

Changes in the taste, odor, or appearance do not necessarily indicate a change in the safety of your water. Water taste is affected by mineral content as well as the presence of chlorine.

If you experience a problem with the taste or odor of your water, let the water run for a few minutes to clear the lines or fill a pitcher and allow it to sit for a few hours.
