Southlake Summer Kick Off

This annual event launches the Library's summer programs. This year our theme is Southlake Spy Academy - where the top agents train. Participants will go on intelligence gathering missions to earn rank from Recruit to Master Spy. 

Your Mission: Go to Bicentennial Park on June 2nd from 10 a.m - 12 p.m. to sign up as a recruit. You will be tested with super secret spy training methods and you will be issued your Spy Filed Guide. This event is free and open to anyone who thinks they have what it takes to be a Master Spy.

All summer readers can begin registering for Southlake Spy Academy starting June 2nd.

Perot Family Science Night at Southlake Library

NOTE: Due to Tarrant County elections, this event has been moved from its original date and location. It is now Friday, June 8 at the Southlake Activity Center, 307 Parkwood Drive in Southlake.

Perot Museum is coming to the Southlake Library with lots of hands-on activities. Enjoy 2-hours of science exploration with the Perot Education team. Free and open to the public. Best for elementary ages and up.

Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero
Animated Film Showing
July 23 | 12:00 p.m. | Harkins Movie Theater

Enjoy a private showing of Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero, which is an animated film based on a true story of a dog hero during World War I.  This film is presented in partnership with the Southlake Historical Association, which will host an exhibit in Southlake Town Hall this summer entitled How Texans Helped Win the Great War.

There is limited seating, so we are taking reservations. Reserve Your Seats.

These programs are open to the public and do not require registration.

Perot Museum Catapult Science - THIS PROGRAM IS FULL
June 6 | 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. | Southlake Town Hall 3rd Floor

Explore the relationship between force, motion, and energy through hands-on activities and experiments in these engaging labs. Physics has never been so fun!

Worth Science will make two trips to Southlake this summer. Sign up for one or both of these programs. Ages 8 & up

Geology Lab - Rocks are cool! Enjoy this hands-on learning exploration of geology and the rocks that make up our world. Program date: June 13th

Entomology Lab - Bugs and more bugs! Students will learn more about entomology and take home a bug habitat. Program date: June 27

Here's the perfect program for your yo-yo enthusiast. Learn the basics and some tricks. All participants will receive a yo-yo to keep.

July 16-20 | 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. | Southlake Town Hall 3rd Floor

This coding camp has an integrated curriculum which covers beginner, intermediate and advanced skills. At the end of the camp, kids will be able to understand computer logic, enhance critical thinking skills and understand program flow. This will enable them to get into the next level - application development for kids. MUST BRING OWN IPAD iOS 10.3 and above. Ages 8-12.

Join a CSI style forensics camp to participate in a hands-on look at crime scenes and how to solve mysteries! Identify and collect evidence, then study fingerprints and other biometrics used to detect clues! Want to become a sleuth? This fun experience will help you to discover how crime is solved! Take home a project every day! Ages 8-12.
