Are you a high school student living in Southlake or attending CISD? Would you enjoy learning more about the City of Southlake, attending City events, and earning volunteer hours? Then you should join the Southlake Youth Action Commission! SYAC members are active leaders in the Southlake community. They advise Council on youth-related issues, assist with special projects and events, and give back to their community through volunteer service.
Application Requirements:- Must be enrolled in 9th - 12th grade
- Must be a Southlake resident or must attend a C.I.S.D. school
- Members will serve an 8-month term, beginning in October and expiring in May (in tandem with the academic calendar)
- Seven students will be appointed as full members and up to 13 will be appointed as alternates
- Applicants must turn in their digital application, parental consent form, essays, and letters of recommendation before the deadline for their application to be considered complete
- Select applicants will be invited to interview for SYAC Board Consideration after the application period closes

What is SYAC?
The Southlake Youth Action Commission is open to all students that reside in Southlake and/or attend schools in the Carroll Independent School District (CISD). Exceptional students must complete and submit an application and may have
no more than two absences per year. Membership must be renewed each year. The Southlake Youth Action Commission brings youth-related issues to the
City Council’s attention and participates in community service projects throughout the year. (
