The two-phase FM 1938 improvement project is a partnership with TxDOT, Tarrant County, the North Central Texas Council of Governments and cities of Southlake, Keller, and Westlake.
Phase 1, which included the cities of Southlake, Keller, and Westlake, is complete. It consists of a six-lane divided roadway with raised curb medians from SH 114 to just south of Dove Road. It then graduates to a four-lane roadway with raised curb medians to Randol Mill Road.
Phase 2, which is scheduled to be completed in late 2019, includes the cities of Southlake and Keller. This part of the project reconstructs the existing road from one lane in each direction to a four-lane divided roadway with a raised curb medians from Randol Mill Road to FM 1709. It also includes underground drainage and a screening wall along the Myers Meadow subdivision. The approximate budget for Phase 2 is $37 million.
