OEM Internship Opportunities

The Emergency Management Intern will assist theEmergency Manager with updating Southlake’s Emergency Plan, assist with EMAP accreditation procedures, participate in the planning process of the Preparedness Fair, and other duties as assigned. The intern will work under general supervision with the use of initiative and good judgment.

Essential Functions:
•    Assist in updating EOC manual and annexes
•    Assist in the accreditation processes
•    Assist in the Preparedness Fair
•    Attend emergency management meetings and trainings.
•    Assist in writing and managing emergency management, fire, and police grants.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications
•    Minimum of two (2) years of coursework from an accredited college or university with major coursework in emergency management, or a related field.
•    Experience using word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other relevant computer applications.
•    Ability to research, analyze and effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
