The Emergency Management Intern will assist the Emergency Manager with updating Southlake’s Emergency Plan, assist with EMAP accreditation procedures, take part in the planning process of the Preparedness Fair, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: • Assist in updating EOC manual and annexes • Assist in the accreditation processes • Assist in the Preparedness Fair • Attend emergency management meetings and trainings. • Assist in writing and managing emergency management, fire, and police grants. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: • Minimum of two (2) years of coursework from an accredited college or program with major coursework in emergency management, or a related field. • Experience using word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other relevant computer programs. • Ability to research, analyze and communicate both orally and in writing.
