Metroport Meals on Wheels (MMOW)

Metroport Meals on Wheels - LogoNeighbors Helping Neighbors to alleviate hunger, isolation, and loneliness in our communities, and to foster the independence, worth, and dignity of each individual they serve.

About MMOW

Metroport Meals on Wheels is a grassroots volunteer advocate for the elderly and those in need through home-delivered meals, and other support services. Since 1980 MMOW has built a people-centered program on a foundation of community support rather than state and federal programs. Which means MMOW participants do not have to meet age requirements nor have to meet financial guidelines. Participants only need to be in our geographical area and to either be unable to consistently cook and shop for themselves or, isolated and alone for extended periods dues to physical limitations.

Current Needs

At this time, MMOW’s most pressing needs are monetary donations and items on their ongoing Amazon Wish List which are critical to their operation. If you decide to make a financial contribution, please make sure to list Southlake Cares in the "How did you hear about us?" section.

MMOW also uses volunteers for deliveries and to help with Sadie’s Resale store. Volunteers’ warm hearts and helping hands are the glue that holds MMOW programs together. Whether delivering meals, assisting at senior centers, working in our resale boutique or helping with special events and fundraisers, it is our volunteers’ gift of sharing their time and hearts that makes it possible for MMOW to support our participants’ independence with dignity.
