The Wastewater Division manages the daily operations of Southlake's sewer system. The Division supports the collection system to over 7,500 sanitary sewer customers and performs tasks such as:
- Repairing and performing preventative maintenance on over 200 miles of wastewater pipeline, as well as 13 collection system lift stations
- Inspecting and maintaining over 3,000 manholes
All of these tasks are done in continual compliance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's (TCEQ) standards and regulations. In order to ensure compliance with TCEQ standards, many Wastewater Division employees study and take the necessary tests to obtain a TCEQ Wastewater Collections II License. This license requires at least 60 hours of classes and two years of field experience!
