Big Bear Creek Bridge Replacement

Check the box! This project is complete! This project was a joint effort between the City of Southlake, City of Colleyville and TxDOT.

Officials from Southlake and Colleyville celebrate the opening of the bridge with a ribbon cutting.

Project Background

Through its condition assessment program, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) determined that the bridge at Big Bear Creek was due for replacement. TxDOT worked with the contractor, Coppell Construction Company Inc., to replace the bridge.

Detours were provided around the work zone. They are set up along Continental Boulevard and Brumlow Avenue in Southlake and along John McCain Road and SH 26 in Colleyville.

Access to the Bent Creek neighborhood was maintained via South White Chapel Boulevard and Creekway Bend.

A portion of South White Chapel Boulevard near the Southlake/Colleyville border remained closed while work was underway.

Work was completed in September 2021 and the new bridge opened for use on Monday, September 13, 2021.
