Commitment to Honor

Southlake is committed to finding ways to honor our Veterans. As a city, we have always been passionate about celebrating our Southlake team members who have served. Recently, we partnered with resident Veterans to find ways to continue to honor our Southlake military heroes, past and present.

But we need your help identifying those within our community who have served in our Armed Forces. So if you, or someone you know, have served or are currently serving in the US Armed Forces, please complete the Tell Us About Your Veterans form and let us know about your Southlake Veteran. Your submission will not only tell us a little about the Veteran's service to our nation but also allow us to communicate with them about future Veteran related events.

Days of Honor

Several times a year, we honor our veterans with special displays in Town Square. In honor of Memorial Day 2022, we remembered our fallen heroes by lighting up Town Hall in red, white, and blue, displaying the military branch flags, and partnering with local Boys Scouts to place US Flags around Town Square. For September 11, 2022, flags were placed around Town Square, and flowers were lain by 9/11 Unity Oak by the fountain in front of Town Hall. For Veterans Day, 2022, yellow ribbons decorate the trees in Family Park and special banners are up on Main Street that signifies special thanks to our veterans.

We want to hear from you. Email us if you have a suggestion for a future Veterans event.

Veterans and Active Military Parking Spaces

On November 1, 2022, Mayor John Huffman and the Southlake City Council unveiled two designated parking spots for military veterans and active military members. The spaces are located on the Northwest corner of Town Hall near the I Believe in Southlake Mural.
