City Council Resolution No. 08-050A offers an economic incentive program encouraging property owners to connect to new sanitary sewer improvements funded by the City's Capital Improvement Program.
The Resolution establishes a tap fee waiver as follows:
The date that sewer is made available is established as the date of acceptance of the infrastructure improvements by the Public Works Department. If you live in a sub-division where sanitary sewer is being made available via the City's Neighborhood Sewer Program (NSP), you may be eligible for a waiver of the tap fee as an economic incentive to connect to City sewerage facilities. Eligible residents will receive a written notice via certified mail in such an event explaining the procedures, time lines, and critical dates.
For seniors over the age of 65 and disabled residents, you may be eligible for the waiver of the tap fee as an economic incentive to connect to City sanitary sewer in your area at any time provided your annual household income is 200% or less of the Federal Poverty Guidelines as published annually by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. A copy of a valid driver's license or birth certificate, and a copy of last year's tax returns will need to accompany the septic-to-sewer application process.
