Why a Sustainability Master Plan?

By integrating economic and environmentally sustainable practices into City policies, procedures, operations, and fostering collaboration across City government, the City’s Sustainability Master Plan, will work to protect and enhance the quality of life for present and future generations in the City of Southlake. Leading by example, the Sustainability Master Plan promotes responsible financial management and effective stewardship of the City’s built and natural environments; the City of Southlake will further promote itself as a model government agency that is clean, healthy, resource-efficient, financially stable and environmentally conscientious.

Sustainability Master Plan Document

Ordinance No. 1104 - Sustainability Master Plan, was adopted by City Council on February 17, 2015. The Sustainability Master Plan contains the following sections:

  1. Introduction
  2. Background
  3. Water Resources
  4. Energy Resources
  5. Built & Natural Environment
  6. Community Vitality
  7. Waste Minimization
  8. Transportation
  9. Economic/Fiscal Wellness
In addition to the sections listed above, the Plan contains Supplement A - which is a summary of the City's fund structure, and the Environmental Resource Protection Map.
