Season's Greetings!

Season's Greetings!

On behalf of the Southlake City Council, I would like to welcome you Home for the Holidays. Every year we turn Southlake into a winter wonderland and this year is no different.  You can build a snowman, tube down a snow hill or take your holiday picture by the Christmas tree as snow falls around you.  Marq your calendars for December 12 as we celebrate the opening of The Marq Southlake complete with ballrooms, Aria outdoor amphitheater, Senior Activity Center and more.

In the short time that I’ve been Mayor I have met so many people and organizations who truly exemplify the true spirit of giving.  We see organizations like GRACE and Metroport Meals on Wheels who make sure that people young and old don’t go without.  Christmas is for Children encourages residents to give canned food and toys to go to underprivileged families during this holiday season.  We also see our children do the right thing through organizations like Southlake’s SASO, which encourage our youth to serve others tirelessly.

This holiday season, I encourage you to give some of your time to those who need it most.  It might be time with a family member or friends.  It might be giving time to a group in the midst of organizing its annual holiday efforts. No matter what you do I promise you that it will be time well spent.

Of course, I also hope that you will spend some time with us here in Southlake. Santa visits, horse carriage rides, Story time at the Station and much, much more, those are just some of the big plans we have for this year.

From all of our families to yours, Happy Holidays!
