The City Council recently adopted amendments to the City Code (Ordinance No. 907-A) in regard to Public Smoking. The City of Southlake now regulates the use of electronic smoking devices (e-cigarettes) in the same manner as smoking tobacco products.
The ordinance prohibits the use of both electronic and tobacco smoking products within all public buildings in the City. A public building is defined as any building other than a building used as a private residence. In addition, the use of electronic and tobacco smoking products within 20 feet of an entrance/exit of any public building and in City Parks (except in designated areas) is also prohibited. Ordinance No. 907-A went into effect March 1, 2016.
