Solar Eclipse Viewing Party
Monday, August 21, 2017
On August 21, the Earth will cross the shadow of the moon, creating a total solar eclipse. The Southlake Library is inviting you and your family to a viewing party.
Eclipses happen about every six months, but this one is special. For the first time in almost 40 years, the path of the moon’s shadow passes through the continental United States.
This is a once in a lifetime event that you don’t want to miss. So grab the kids and join the Southlake Library for a really fun and educational experience. The solar eclipse viewing party will be held at Family Park located in front of Town Hall on August 21 at 12:30 p.m.
The Library staff will have about 125 solar eclipse glasses to use for viewing. Plus, moms, dads and kids will be treated to moon pies and sun chips.
The glasses will be given to the first 125 people in line for the program. The Library will also stream NASA's live feed of the eclipse inside of the Library.
