[ARCHIVED] Pokemon Go Safety Tips For Kids and Parents

Pokemon

The game imitates what it would be like if a Pokemon character really were roaming around you at all times, in a kind of augmented virtual reality world, ready to be caught and collected. This feature has? resulted ?in ?some “trainers” or Pokemon players ?becoming distracted and run?ning? into people, walls, poles etc. while ?playing the game.? Pokemon fever has resulted in falls, bumps and bruises ?to? players.

The Southlake Police Department wants to urge players?, especially young teens, to practice safety.

Here are a few tips:

?Be aware of your surroundings
Don’t play Pokemon while driving
No crossing the street while playing the game
Don’t go to isolated locations alone, especially after dark
Be mindful of the City’s midnight curfew for teens under the age of 1?7
Don’t go to isolated locations alone, especially after dark.
Entering other people’s property is a crime and can be dangerous. Do not trespass.
Stay safe!
