The Southlake Youth Action Commission is open to all students in the 7th-12th grades that reside in Southlake and/or attend schools in the Carroll Independent School District (CISD). Students must complete and submit an application and may have no more than two absences per year. Membership must be renewed each year. The Southlake Youth Action Commission brings youth-related issues to the City Council’s attention, and participates in community service projects throughout the year

Fire Prevention Week was established to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire, the tragic 1871 conflagration that killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures and burned more than 2,000 acres. The fire began on October 8, but continued into and did most of its damage on October 9, 1871. Check back for information in this years FPW theme.

Mother Goose Story Time is for babies over 1 year who have begun to walk. Activities include songs, rhymes, games, and a story, followed by free play.
