Students and Parents Against Risks to our Kids (S.P.A.R.K.) is committed to empowering our citizens in the battle against underage drinking, drugs, and Internet perils.

Fire Prevention Week was established to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire, the tragic 1871 conflagration that killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures and burned more than 2,000 acres. The fire began on October 8, but continued into and did most of its damage on October 9, 1871. Check back for information in this years FPW theme.

The course is an American Heart Association CPR/AED class that comes with a certification that is valid for two years from month of issuance. Register for the class by contacting Renni Burt at 817-748-8349 or rburt@ci.southlake.tx.us

Fall Cleaning Day - Includes hazardous waste disposal, document shredding and electronics recycling. The event is open until 11:00 a.m. or until collection vehicles have reached capacity.

Toastmasters meets each Saturday in the Library to practice public speaking skills. Membership in this group is open.
