In August of 1972, General Idi Amin forced approximately 80,000 Ugandan Asians to leave Uganda within 90 days. Not allowed to take anything with them, they left empty handed. A brave few stayed, but most left to Asia or Europe. One family chose to start over in Britain. There, they faced setback after setback, but eventually established a home. This is Sanjay Patel's story, and August marks the fifty year anniversary of this event.
