  2. Creative Mind Exhibit

    February 4, 2023, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

    The Southlake Library will host the exhibit from the National Academy of Sciences entitled The Creative Mind which highlights Black scientists and researchers. This traveling exhibit celebrates the contributions of African Americans to medicine, mathematics, engineering, and all branches of science. It features the careers and achievements of some of today’s outstanding black scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and medical professionals and highlights the work of notable figures from the past. A “Did You Know?” section brings in additional information about each field, pointing to future career possibilities for creative minds of the next generation. The exhibit will be on display in the library throughout the month of February to celebrate Black History Month.

  3. Read to Evan Seven, a Canine Companion

    February 4, 2023, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

    Children of all reading abilities are invited to spend one-on-one time reading to Evan Seven, a Golden Retriever/Labrador mix, and a certified therapy dog with Canine Companions. He loves belly rubs, neck scratches and books! Each reader will get 15 minutes reading time with Evan. Ages 4-12 only. Registration required.

  4. WORSHOP FULL: Lunar New Year Lantern Workshop

    February 4, 2023, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

    Southlake Library and Southlake Sister Cities are partnering to welcome the start of the lunar new year. Enjoy a 2-hour come-and-go workshop to make your own lanterns to light up the night. Then join us at sunset to parade through the Square with our lanterns, bringing hope and light to the new year. Lanterns are while supplies last. WORKSHOP FULL, REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.

  5. Lunar New Year Lantern Walk

    February 4, 2023, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

    Meet us at the fountain in Family Park for a parade through the Square with our lanterns, bringing hope and light to the new year. No registration is required. Use the lanterns you created at the workshop or bring your own.
